As I sit here in the warm Hawaiian sun, it’s hard to think of life anywhere else. The warm ocean breeze, gorgeous sunsets, early mornings, early evenings and laid back lifestyle would make any Manitoban (especially me) wonder why they live anywhere else.
Yet, when you live in a bathing suit, how do you change up your look? There’s only so many cuts a bikini can have and even then, your body is most likely going to look the same in all of them. (What? I still have “child-bearing” hips even in a two-piece?!)
I gently smirk when women come down to the beach in full on 6″ wedges. Really? Is now the time to teeter on uneven ground? And yet I totally get the desire to look somewhat put together or like you carry your own style, even when you’re spending most of your time in the same bathing suit. (And yes, all of us with one main bathing suit are secretly jealous of your 52).
So, here’s a quick little guide of how to switch up your beach attire without having to break the bank on a plethora of bathing suits.
Two words. Hats. Sunglasses.
Pair these two with your favorite suit and a cover up and you’ll be bringing style with you wherever you go.

There’s just something about a large brimmed hat that I love. Although it can take a bit of confidence to don one in this world of hatless-ness, what better place to build that self-esteem then at the beach? Plus, when you pair it with these adorable Audrey Hepburn-esque sunnies you’re sure to feel uber beach chic.

If you’re feeling more athletic, simply switch the large brim for a baseball cap and a pair of aviators.

You’ll be amazed how a quick accessory change will totally change your look!

It’s hard enough to find one bathing suit that fits your body perfectly, let alone multiples… Why not keep the suit you feel the best in and simply change up the look with some accessories?!
